Education and certification
are different steps.
An SMRC educational course introduces knowledge and skills. Completion does not automatically make someone a Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach, confer a license, or provide continuing education credits.
Michigan’s peer recovery framework connects lived experience with training and supervision to support people beginning and sustaining recovery. Official certification has its own application, eligibility, training and approval process.
No SMRC course on this website has verified approval for a recognized credential, continuing education credit or government certification. If you need training for a job requirement, ask the relevant authority or employer whether the exact course is accepted before enrolling.
