Peer recovery coaching

Peer support respects personal choice and multiple recovery pathways. If you would rather begin with a general question about what coaching involves, contact SMRC and ask about the process before arranging a visit.

Family recovery support

A family supporter may need a way to express concern without discussing a loved one in public. Family education offers communication and boundary-setting topics, and a place to ask about resources for your own support.

Overdose prevention & naloxone education

Parchment groups can request overdose awareness and naloxone education. A class can help clarify the difference between offering immediate help and providing ongoing medical care; emergencies require 911.

Community training & outreach

For community volunteers, useful learning may include what to say when someone asks for help at a gathering and how to refer respectfully. Ask about church and community leader training or the ethics and boundaries course.

A little clarity

Questions, welcomed.

Do I have to tell my recovery story to ask about a course?

No. You can ask about course topics, dates and access without sharing a personal history. Training requests should not include health information about you or someone else.

How do I find current training or recovery meetings?

Check the SMRC training calendar and separate community events page. No SMRC training dates are confirmed yet. For independent meetings, use the community resource directory and verify the schedule with the organizer.

Is SMRC a medical treatment or detox provider?

The services described here are peer-centered support, education and resource connections. Medical treatment, clinical counseling and detoxification are not represented as verified SMRC services. Call 911 for an emergency.
